Definaly check out Led Zepplin's 'when the levee breaks'. Also Dee Lite's ' Groove is in the Heart'. War's 'Cisco Kid'. Fatboy Slim's 'Praise You'. and Del tha Funky Homosapien's 'Mr Dobbalina'.

All good stuff!

How the hell can someone with a username like yours be recommending any of that lame arse shite in a thread about the groove?

Post

some indie grooves, soft to hard:

the charlatans - and if i fall
dandy warhols - you were the last high
mates of state - goods (all in your head)
dismemberment plan - the city
ratatat - seventeen years
the faint - glass danse
muse - time is running out
rocket from the crypt - on a rope
the hellacopters - (gotta get some action) now!

alright, that last one is more of an i'm-not-a-pussy disclaimer than a groove.

Distantly, to most of that list of yours.

You can't go wrong with any Geto Boys really, but Damn it Feels Good... ranks as one of my favourite songs, so I have to go with it. Plus for sheer groove, that combination of big snare and piano gets me every time. I'd probably rank the warped doowop vibe on Six Feet Deep higher for groove than My Mind Playin Tricks on Me.

It's that ahhh! factor that always gives me so much trouble making a well thought out and complete list for such queries.
