soundfont GM remap question

I've got a few drum soundfonts that don't follow GM standard patch assignments. They're great 'fonts, but I gotta sit and tap 'em out on the keyboard rather than sequencing them in the paino roll editor, and I don't play that well.
One of them looks like it's ONE position higher than GM soundfonts.
Is there a utility to remap the drum sounds to where they're supposed to go? Like, without loading up that scary-looking Vienna soundfont editor?
Just asking...

It's better to burn out...than it is to um..to um...well, something, anyway...

Nope. Samplitude here, and it doesn't do MIDI very well. I actually use their excellent MIDI Studio sequencer to do the basic MIDI tracks, and there doesn't seem to be a way to do that in there. Or maybe I'm missing it, I dunno.

sorry, by "their" MIDI Studio software, I mean Magix, of course.
BTW, I know you guys are probably going to say that the only way to permanently remap GM keyboard assignments is through the Vienna Soundfont editor, but I thought I'd post this question anyway; maybe there's some freebie utility out there to remap 'fonts?
I really would just try it in Vienna - I've got it here, after all - but by the looks of the interface and the tutorial, I believe that it's possible to permanently injure myself with that piece of software, and then I could no longer play. (Not that that would be that great of a loss to the musical world, but I'd miss it, I'm sure...)

A couple of ideas:
1) Use sfzEd to remap the soundfont into sfz-format. sfzEd breaks out the samples and creates a text file which defines the mapping of the samples. Very easy to use. The resulting sfz file loads into the (free) sfz VST plugin. Do a forum search on sfzEd here in KVR. Visit http://www.rgcaudio.com/sfzformat.htm to learn more about the sfz format.
2) Or, remap the incoming midi notes. I've seen a VST plugin which does this, but can't remember where I found it (or whether I still have it). Basically, there's a column of note values 0-127 with a corresponding column to set the re-mapped note values.

You can reassign note ranges by right clicking on the instrument and selecting "set note range from MIDI keyboard" then play the note(s) where you want it. If this results in playing the wrong pitch, just use "set root from MIDI keyboard" to set the root to the same note.
Vienna requires that you have a Creative Labs soundcard installed.
Any other solution is likely to be MORE complex than learning this much about Vienna.

I'd rather get and use a dedicated drum sampler.
No, this isn't meant to sound snobbish or so - IMO, when it comes to drums, the limitations of whatever patch format limited to one stereo output are showing up quickly.
No easy way to set up different levels for individual drum instruments, no way to easily send them to a single extra output to add further FX and so on.
Personally, I could't live without all that comfort anymore (especially considering that a fully featured drum sampler such as FXpansions DR-008 is less than 100 bucks these days).

I think you can use a n old soundfont editor to do this, such as viena
