As far as I'm aware eXT has no tempo track, or has that changed now? If it does, then it really has everything I need.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Nope, eXT still doesn't have it. I hope jorgen's working on it!

Anyway, I would agree that eXT is difficult to get to grips with as a main sequencer. It's not that it's complicated - it's really not. It's just that the way you have to work in eXT is less intuitive to most people - even once you know how to do everything, it's not much fun to sequence in. Of course there are plenty of people who disagree, but that's just how it is to me - currently, eXT's sequencer is just plain no fun to use.

The rest of the app is awesome to play with and make music with, though :) it's the app I go to when I want to make sounds, which admittedly is not as often as I want to make songs, in which case I go to another great option for the thread-poster, FL Studio :D

- Light CPU usage
- A very easy and fast automation methods as apposed to drawing events inside piano rolls or fiddling around with tiny buttons (which is eye damaging by the way)
- Great midi editing
- A great workflow

Other aspects are all of a minimum importance to me .Money Dosn't matter at all as long as the price doesn't go above $500!

Thanks for help!

I don't know Logic, but I have Sonar and when I discovered FL Studio, I rarely touch Sonar now. I found that with FL Studio, I could get results and move my composition process along 10 times faster. I'd suggest you check out the FL Studio demo. With the kind of money you are about to spend, you could get the Producer Edition and have some left over to buy more toys. Lots of automation options to choose from and tutorials that show you how to use them are available in most cases ... easier to watch and "get it" with real examples rather than reading "how to" in a manual.

There is also a very active forum with lots of users offering tips and answers.

horses for courses. i had fl studio / fruity for almost three years before i got sonar. in fl i could never manage anything but loop creations; in sonar i'm doing full, complex compositions.
