Greetings,

I have a problem with my midi controller. I have Evolution UC-16 and I want to assign more than one plugins to my midi device via cubase but I can't find a way to assign more than one at a time, record some automation and then go back and change the settings to record automation from another vst effect. In fruity studio you can assign practically anything on the midi remote device. Can I do the same in CubaseSX? Need some help here.... :help:

Your topic prevents me from wanting to help. Maybe you should stick with Fruity.

I don't really understand what you mean but anyway I don't want to record in fruity, I just said how easy are things in Fruity! and I just asked if you there is a way to do the same in Cubase.

According to you Cubase sucks. I would stick with Fruity if I were you. It will save you from having to use a host that sucks.

You must know...Cubase is his girlfriend :-o

and he gets jealous when she sucks for other people :hihi:

you have to activate the midi tracks at the same time (little record buttons)!

according to my sayings I use cubase!!! but assigning knobs of only one vst at a time sucks. how hard can this be?
an example.let's say that I want to record some automation from Reaktor and some other effect let's say smart electronic's buffer override.I can record automation from both effects using my mouse but I cannot record them both using UC-16! I have to record reaktor and then go to the cubase setup and change the settings so I can record automation from buffer override.
does anyone know how I could do that? sorry I offended your girlfriend btw.,

The sad part is that she sucks for you and not for me :(

so, I will never find out if there is a way.... :bang:

Your problem isnt with Cubase, its with your expectations of the U16. It can only control one thing at a time like any other controller. If you want to make it do more, learn how to manipulate cc messages and write your own for the U16.

Even non-"Cubase sucks" hosts can't do it all, so in this case it's not fair to blame the "Cubase sucks" host. ;)

Sorry...

don't respond to me. It's been a few weeks since calling it a "Cubase sucks" host, and I had forgotten how fun it was. ;) Especially with SJ in the thread. :D

I think I sort of managed to do what you are talking about: to test my BCR2000 controller a while ago I configured it to both change channel settings (volume, pan) of several instruments as well as the filter settings of a VSTi. I set the BCR to the relevant items in the Cubase Generic Control panel. Didn't record btw - but I assume to record you'd need to enable the record on all targeted channels.
