Still unreleased, therefore no idea how it sounds, but this is probably the best GUI ever: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1699.html

Uh, that's ok. If you like that sort of thing. But here's one that is released and works as well it looks and is The Very Best GUI ever that you can stick that other best GUI into: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/358.html

A matter of personal taste, of course. I'm not too fond of Tracktion's GUI: not in love with the graphics and I hate the editor, so I don't use it, although I've downloaded the NFR version.
Did I mention that I hate that editor?

In my opinion Tracktion is the WORST gui ever.

Tracktion looks ugly even compared to Buzz.
Komplexer looks good with clean UI. Best UI of any music software must Impulse Tracker's. It's still unbeatable fast and intuitive.
My 0.02 euros..

Komplexer looks nice enough, if a little on the large side. But look at what you get for 199 euros! f**k-all, your Honour. It would want to sound really, really, really good for that kind of brass.

I'm not talking only about the aesthetics, I'm talking about the whole ergonomics: I don't have to try to guess what's written below that button, or turn off the lights, or put my nose right in front of the screen (no jokes about my glasses, please: new ones two months ago). Everything is very well laid, that's what I mean. A good interface doesn't have to look like hardware, but for some reason the best interfaces (IMO of course) follow a hardware approach.

i agree.
but 'for some reason the best...' emulates hardware because they're coddling your expectations, perhaps?? :p
just because they're coddling your expectations doesn't necessarily mean it's bad either :p
..and just because it looks like h/w doesn't mean it's coddling blah blah..
but let's cover the options, is good postin
now what i'd really like to know about is gui logos.. shiny or like computer?
