My buddy b rock is a great Project 5 tutorial writer. We're bouncing around some interesting ideas on this thread in the Project 5 forum. Please read this thread Squids and everyone interested. http://www.cakewalk.com/forum/tm.asp?m=380589&mpage=3
He has some great techniques for using the Sonik Capsules series.
EDIT: I changed the name of the thread,, hope nobody minds.

Yes. By the way, I think it is safe to say now that Sonic Reality contributed sounds to the new Project 5 ver 2. But, maybe you already know this now that it is available.
I will head over there in a bit.

I received my copy of P5v2 the other day and I am impressed by this upgrade. I didn't use version 1 much after getting Sonar, but I think I'll be using version 2 quite a bit. Also, Rene's sampling synthesizer ("Dimension") is amazing. Dimension by itself is probably worth the full price of P5v2.Squids wrote:Yes. Squids, if you are at liberty to say, could you be more specific as to which sounds were contributed by SR?

Yes Squids, we are all curious about your contribution. The Project 5 upgrade is really nice. Dimension is a very nice plug. Of course I realize it's all very new yet, but I'm anxious to hear your impressions of Dimension. (I know I've been kind of buggin' ya about this, and sorry if I'm a PITA
) If a translation of the Capsules to support Dimension is a pipe dream, I'll get off the subject, but there are bound to be a lot of content hungry Dimension users.
Then on the other hand, Sampletank runs nicely in P 5 version 2, so if it doesn't happen, I can still use all my SR sounds in my Project 5 projects.

We provided some of the samples for the factory bank of Dimension and P5 ver 2. That was what I was holding back. As for third party support for it... we're all for it. Plus we're fans of Rene's work as well so, I will have more things to say about this for sure. Cakewalk are very nice and the users seem to be as well on the whole. I'll make my way over to the forum and check out that thread soon.

I would definitely be interested in more sounds for Dimension. I would be particularly interested in some of the "elements" types of sounds that can be found in SS2 that are good for adding interesting textures to other layers of sounds. For example, the repeater bell tree sound from SS2 is one of my favorites. It would be great to have sounds like that available for Dimension. In fact I would love to have more repeating sounds like that in SS2 as well, or, better yet, a way to trigger in SS2 automatic repeating of single hit samples in various patterns.Squids wrote:We provided some of the samples for the factory bank of Dimension and P5 ver 2. Yeah, I like those sounds too and I agree. I was thinking that a nice update to SS2 would be even MORE elements (if you can believe it- there ARE 1,700+ already) and a ton of patches really digging into their potential... which just takes time that's all.
I am sure these would work well for Dimension as well. So, we'll see. Could be something we'll do at some point. Although we're in the midst of finishing Miroslav Philharmonik, Studiophonik and a certain massive drum library we've been working on for years plus about 20 new refills for Reason so... there's only so much one company can do! Having said that, this year we've doubled the size of our sound design team so anything is possible!
