On my way home from work last night I was listening to my local independant radio station when the dj started talking about http://www.downhillbattle.org/
I haven't had a chance to look at much of it, but the site seems to have some good stuff. It's mainly a political activism group aimed at making the lives of independant musicians easier.
Their theory is that by shutting down the big 5 record labels we can force independant music back into the spotlight. They have interviews with a number of big name producers, musicians and indy labels who support their cause.
There are also some good articles about the way that the major record labels make sure independant music doesn't get played on the radio, and the various ways that they have screwed musicians both independant and famous.
I suggest you take a look at the site. I know what I'll be reading when I get home form work tonight.
