is not technically a multi-band compressor as most people know them. Most people would consider bands as frequency bands. Neodynium is unique in that the bands are not frequency but rather by decibel.
Thus, you can compress or expand sounds in different decibel ranges. (and use different ratios, attacks, release, etc.)
You have to try it out to see how you can really mess with sounds. You still need a multi-band compressor if you want to do use frequency bands.
I use PSP Vintage Warmer for that purpose.

Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

Gets my vote too, you can do some nice stuff and it's very transparent. It loads by default with any new track I make and often stays alone on the master FX bus.PeterL wrote:Although it has no GUI, MJMultibandCOmpressor is still great:

Endorphin is also really nice, it was my weapon of choice before, but when doing quick and very non-scientific A/B comparisons MJ seemed to beat it, MJs also has a lot of more settings while still straightforward to use.
Edit: Is Stardust really multiband? It has a "multiband" section in the screenshot but I certainly can't see any settings for frequencybands anywhere.
