 Sweeeeet!

Yes!!! And it was that retro Hawaii/surf/jazz sound I was after! :-D

Yes, I have an Artcore, too (from the same place as you I guess  ), but without "Jammerhaken" .

Every time I look at it I think it's a miracle for that price.

And yes, it really sounds great.

Tommy

:o you're from Cologne as well? Yes, I guess it was the same place then...
(the 'Behringer' of music-shops :hihi:)

Lutz Schröder is a bit of a moron b.t.w.

The Jammerhaken was one of the main reasons I bought it though...

and yes: the price is incredible! :-D 8)

I got me a Gretsch 3156 for my Birthday.

Only trouble is after every gig folks always comment on the guitar not the tunes!!!

Best of luck with it. Hope you have a long and happy time together - what amp she going through?

Dave

ooh that Gretsch is a wonderful guitar...

when I'm at home I usually don't go trough any amp but merely through my J-Station...

when I'm jamming with friends I can go through a Twin Reverb (not mine though...)

Not, that I envy you ...

But I guess that Ibanez is more than sufficient for my humble skills. And BTW, Jens, for that Surf Sound I have a Burns Marquee. You know, there is another guitar shop on Aachener Straße worth visiting every once in a while  . They have that Fender Jaguar on sale at the moment :? :hihi:

Tommy

Aachener Str.? :o Where exactly? I live close... (Ehrenfeld)

Burns Marquee? any pics?

Ima prolly get me an epi sheraton fer my berfday. The couple that I have played have been like butter in my hands... I also like the artcores, but I just  that 335 archtop shape, it is brilliant. Classy and beautiful. I also think that the f holes on the gibson/epis are perfect. Call me crazy, but I dont like the cats eye f holes or the exagerrated Fs of the artcores...

But Jens, yers actually looks quite sharp, the turquise color fits it nicely...

googled it...

very nice - but seems to be rather strat-style and the tremolo is uni-directional, isn't it? :)

Guitar Center Cologne

Not far from Melatenfriedhof.

It's a division of Beyer's Music in Bochum.

Pic is here . Just point on the rectangle in the middle (green) and then click on the guitar. That's the one I have.

Eeek - dont get me wrong guys. My 'Day to day' guitar has been amy Tele for the last 15 years. When I was about to hit thirty (and my band has been making a small bit of money playing out) I decided to REALLY treat myself :)

I've played a friends Ibanez and was really inpressed... lots of ground hum on the Gretsch when unfretted. I have to remember to keep one hand on the Tremolo arm or tone/volum pots to kill the buzz :)

Twin Reverb  dont think Ive ever even seen one! Emulated on the Flextone I think.

BTW What do you guys think of the Line6 amps?

Take care guys,
Dave
