hello,

does anyone know a good way to create the "text to speech" robot voice? i'm looking for the "stephen hawking" low tone robot voice.

there is a similar voice on mac speech (called bad news) but the voice is melodic; i'd prefer a constant tone.

any vst plugs? programs?

there are a lot of text to speech programs out there, but most of them sound very kind of sub-par. just trying to find the best way to do it.

thanks,
tom

you could download the fruityloops demo, use the speech synth, and then export the wave file to whatever program you want.

or you could drop a c-note and a half and get a nice program too...

Try Shittalker. This is the exact same voice as heard in Pink Floyd's "Keep Talking".

You can choose male/female, young/old. Even the speed at which the voice plays. There's a great randomizer in it as well.

I've used this for a while now and it suits my needs just fine. I don't need a super sophisticated program.

Hope this helps.

late at night my friends and I write horribly vulgar personalized insults with that and send them to eachotehr via the "Display link for audio file" option. It's awesome!

If you got a PC, just use the 'Accesibilty Voice' for the visually impaired. I did a whole prensentation using NotePad and phonetically spelling words out just so (Stynburg, Yaw Ma Haw, etc) that would've impressed the hell out of Florian Schneider atleast. ;)

Or ask to borrow vurts Speak and Spell? :hihi:

There's a recent upload in the Reaktor library (Babble On) that can do robot singing as well - works by sequencing phonemes in patterns, then sequencing patterns into songs.
