Yes unless they use mousse, yes bucket fulls, yes they do turn beet red, they choke on the Dundee biscuits, not phlegm, fuel injection, and ask Hunter. That about covers all your questions!pough wrote:Extra hairy? Spit more often? Turn lobster-red when the sun comes out? Sound like they're choking on phlegm? this is definitly my favHellbilly wrote:Filterscape is excellent and highly recommend it. It uses almost no CPU which is simply amazing. It's got a filter module, 6band EQ and a VA synth.

Ah yes...I got a question about Crayon Filter - when I instantiate it, it immediately boosts the signal and I can't get it to NOT clip - is that normal? I know it's supposed to be a driven-sounding filter. Now, back on topic...Filters
Personally, I've had trouble finding a good, smooth filter that doesn't sound cold, stepped, or peaks out easily. My absolute favourite right now is this little-known puppy:

It's smooth, doesn't clip during sweeps and allows for more complex filter-tempo-fuzz techniques. I don't know why - at this price - it isn't all the rage (maybe it's the awkward name...).

I second the Kjaerhus recommendation for a freebie and Filterscape for something truly outstanding.

I personally think that Reaktor has the best sounding filters around. Not so great on CPU usage though. But really a different yet pleasing sound you can't find anywhere else.
Oh yeah and you can make the filter do anything too.

Nope, there's 3 sections on the download page, one for Mac AU, one for VST Mac and one for VST PC... just scroll a bit down on the page...boin wrote:You guys convinced me to try Filterscape but I'm having a problem: is the trial version Mac only? It seems to be...

It's still named "beta", but it's pretty stable and usable. Final version (some minor fixes and a couple of enhancements all over the place) is expected within two weeks.
Cheers,

Betabugs plugs never crashed my Tracktion.
Here's my Tracktion setup:
Athlon 1.2 GHz
256 MB RAM
SB Live using KX Drivers, at 5.3 mS latency, thank you very much.
Betabugs plugs are great. They work very nicely with Tracktion in my opinion. And it's not because I've got some killer PC setup, as you can tell. I probably have one of the oldest/least capable machines of the KVR membership.

(I still prefer Frohmage, however)
