Hi there,
Anyone know a good trombone soundfont? The ones I've found so far are not that good.

From what I remember, Project Sam once had a demo patch on their site which was reasonably good. Mind you, it was a .gig though.

Howdy. I rather like the trombone samples in the UIowa MIS collection (http://theremin.music.uiowa.edu/MIS.html) -- some assembly required. IIRC correctly, I just imported them into the AWave demo and ran the auto-trimmer. The resulting sf2 is fairly quiet and probably needs to be normalized, but I like it. The sf2 is 20 MB, sfpacked to 5; I could mail it if you're interested.
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Through the miracle of broadband, I just tried the Papelmedia 'bone, and my initial impressions are quite favorable. The sound is clear and pleasant, but I find the attacks to be too splatty on the higher velocities; still, real trombones work that way (I played one in high school band). Very nice.

We had a Marching Band Horn sf2 for sale but it's currently discontinued. The natural range of this instrument is between the trumpet and the trombone. The price was $14.99 for a 80 MB soundfont.
I'm considering putting it back on our catalog if there's enough interest in it. Those interested should email me and I will send them a link to download a demo.
