Hi,
I need big church bell samples (full or single) in any format. Are there any on earth? :help:

Well, there is the Yamaha Church Bells soundfont at www.guraydere.com under Rhythm & Drums.

There are also Great Bells and a Carillon in Jeux 1.4 (can be found on www.hammersound.net in the Organ section).

Edit: I tested Jeux last night, and it works fine in sfz as far as I can tell. Maybe I did something wrong last time. Not that I mind; that's the only Bombarde 16' I've got...

There is a synth called Bella that can so the job, but I can't remember who made it and where it is: freeware. Oh yeah, it was made by Diverse. Maybe Google for it?

Have you tryed at www.sounddogs.com ? Type "church bells" in the search criteria and you will have a nice list, some of them for sure will help you.

Exactly which style of bell, and how big?

Do you want the large, tuned, tubular bells that are used in large church carillons?

Perhaps you are just seeking a single, large swinging bell? (Think: "Taco Bell" or "Liberty Bell".)

Also, does it have to be a sample of a real bell? We might be able to come up with some synthetic bell samples for you. The right convolution reverb can sometimes work wonders on a synthetic bell sound.

take care,

Could try tweakbench's carillion: sampled bells I believe. Pretty cool one.

Hit the lower keys

= big bell then (add a touch of reverb for even more effect - can be played accross the keys, velo layers too)

Best regards,

I'm trying to think of a wry comment about equivalencies, but am not up to the task just now. :-}
