Manytone problems in ACID 5?

I have had previous problems in Manytone and ACID 5 but put it down to the problems that the EMU 0404 generally had with the software. I have now changed to audiophile 24/96 and - when I save a song (using manytone) and then reload it comes up with a message "cannot find plug-in" and then loads up the default midi synth. I can naturally then just reload manytone and "dial up" the preset I was using but it's a little annoying. Anyone else had this at all? I did email Paul but was unsure if it was the EMU card, I can now def say it's ACID 5 itself.

Hi womble42
I have an audiophile 24/96 but i only have Acid 4.

I just did a full test with ManyStation and Acid 4 on the audiophile and it works fine here. Save and reload etc. all 100% fine.

Hmmm ... Any other ManyStation or WusikStation users out there with Acid 5?? If anyone there has this combo can you test for us?

We will try to figure this out for you womble.

This is very strange indeed, sadly we don't know what could be happening. Sounds like some problem with VST ID loading...

Yes - that is it essentially, I am doing a fresh install of my windows system tomorrow as I fear that the EMU card may have left some residue drivers in the system - which is also causing some problems with the Audiophile drivers themselves.....I will do that and let you know if the problem still persists. I also have ACID 4 and will check it with that as well - I do not have the same problems with either FL5 Studio or Cubasis 5 Vst.

This is interesting. I've just tried loading an ACID Pro 5.0a (build 310) project which has both a Manystation and a Wusikstation. It's working fine here.

I'm currently using onboard sound (using the latest NVidia ASIO driver). By coincidence, I'm expecting delivery of an E-Mu 0404 today as part of the Proteus X package. I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Good luck btocher! I am selling mine on EBAY (protues that is) you didnt buy it did you!! :) I can load up Manytone with no issues but.....when i save the song and then load it up again.....it claims that it cannot find the manytone insrument and loads up the default midi synth. Have you found similar problems?

I bought it mail order, not from Ebay.

Maybe I've just been lucky, but I've never had a problem with any Creative/E-Mu stuff before, and neither have any of the guys I know. I've certainly seen the negative posts here on KVR about the card, but fingers crossed.

No, I've definitely not had the problem you've described when reopening a song with a Manystation in it. I haven't installed the 0404 yet, but you're certain that ACID Pro is at fault.

I don't know what to suggest, I'm afraid. Have you tried posting on the Sony ACID forum? Some of the developers reply there periodically.

before you get too far into reinstalling etc....
Have you tried a few different settings of the Soundcards drivers?
Also just for test try asio as well as regular mme ... anything you can try to see if it works.
I saw something like this before on FL (Not with ManyStation) and it took opening the song with mme drivers to make it work. (Turned out to be an problem in FL) Maybe this is what you can try in Acid?
Hope we get it figured... Thanks btocher for the input.

Hopefully your suggestion might work, Paul - I'd be interested to hear womble42's results.

Hi - I sold my proteus X and bought an audiophile 24/96 - I then reinstalled all of windows and it seems taht clean reinstall has worked. ACID 5 now has no problems with Manytone - so I can only assume that the issues were a "legacy" from the Proteus X ASIO drivers. Thanks for all your input guys.

Sorry I haven't come back to you with a report on my experience with the Proteus X, folks. The package arrived when it was due but I haven't had time to install it yet. I hope to do so at the weekend.

Glad to hear that womble42 has Manystation now working with the Audiophile.
