I thought I'd drag this info from a thread at em411
"The beta software for Processing 1.0 was released 20 April 2005 and can be downloaded..."
Homepage: http://processing.org/
Some of the new stuff:
PSound function: http://processing.org/reference/PSound.html
New Libraries:
Open Sound Control (OSC),
Sonia,
MaxMSP Link
+ more: http://processing.org/reference/libraries/index.html
JSyn (not new, and not specifically a part of Processing, but I thought I'd add this for anybody wondering about audio synthesis options that Processing can employ. I'm sure I could add more on this topic if I wasn't a complete novice.) http://jsyn.com/jsyn/plugins/

Being as deeply into visual art as I am into music it seems really awesome. I can't wait to get deeper into Processing.
I love the thought of building whole interactive experinces with the music, rather than just visuals to go along with it. this offers a great way to do that and an awesome alteranative to flash and director scripting work.
