hey there
i was supprised how good PSP Wintage Warmer sounds. it's the best compressor i ever heard (100% suits my needs). Now i'm searching for delay & reverb (each effect separately) wich will achive same kind of quality like PSP WW. there are some things that those 2 effects will need to have:
1) very good presets - most delays i own have very lame presets
2) easyness - 5-6 knobs, great sound
3) "that special something"
psp wintage warmer has all this, thats why i like it so much. now, please help me!
thanks

I have to disagree on the Vintage Warmer thing. I'm not real fond of how it sounds with my music. But, if you are looking for excellent analog sounding delay, I would recommend the Voxengo Analogflux or the Kjahaus classic(free). And for reverb, and excellent deal is the Voxengo pristine space LT now for only $36. There are plenty of free impulses at Noisevault.com

I wonder what kind of music Vintage Warmer would not have a good effect on.
If you like the quality of PSP products, you have to check out their PSP 84. It is a delay device with some nice reverb sets. I think when you make the comparisons, you'll go for that one. You get their PSP 42 with it.
For reverb-- Check out Spin Audio's RMV2. Very cool, although (like many reverbs) a hit on CPU. It's hard to beat Voxengo's Pristine Light right now for the price. Although I really like RMV2, if you're considering price go for the PSP 84 and use SIR, or chalk up the extra $40 and get Voxengo's PL. Ambience is liked by a number of people.
If you want to save CPU, I thought the best reverb was by WaveArts.

1...Why do you need presets if you've only got 5-6 knobs to play with? Surely you tailor delays to the needs of your songs? Delay isn't difficult to do.1) very good presets - most delays i own have very lame presets
2) easyness - 5-6 knobs, great sound
2. Well, that rules out any suggestion I've got, as the good delays have more than 5-6 knobs...
I was going to suggest Ohmboyz - which is an excellent shiney,digital-sounding delay that can do all manner of weirdness too.
or the PSP Lexicon delay thingy - has a nice old-school flavour.....but both of those sound like they'll be too difficult for you.....
Or RetroDelay (freebie) which is the best sounding analogue delay to my ears. But that also has too many features for you....
Or Classic Delay (freebie) - which can do a mixture of all of the above....you might be able to get your head around that one?
So it's a shame you only want a bare-bones delay and aren't prepared to learn how to use it, because you can get 2 of the best ones for free.

I second the 84. That thing rules...

IxoxDelay is good. and it's free. some other free delays are: big tick hexaline, dual delay, Kjaerhaus Classic Delay, voxengo tempo delay. They don't have too many presets but easy to play with.
PSP 84 is good too.
and these are some free reverbs:
DaSample Glaceverb (good one)
SmartElectronix Ambiance
Anwidasoft DX Reverb Light
Sinus Web FreeVerbToo

Bionic Delay is awesome.
I wonder: are URGENT demands like "now, please help me!" really necessary? Especially if the author doesn't even check the thread once...

one more here !!!feyshay wrote:If you like the quality of PSP products, you have to check out their PSP 84. It is a delay device with some nice reverb sets. I think when you make the comparisons, you'll go for that one.
this psp 84 is simply great, with lots of modulation possibilities + there's a filter and a reverb, and also a drive module
ixox delay, retro delay are great also (both free)
as for the reverb, i'd suggest DaSample reverb and ambience, both free ones
but they all have more than 5 knobs
i think you should begin with free stuff until you achieve what you want and you learn more about these effects before spending money on a particular one you're not even sure it'll help you the way you want ...
