I Want A New Host

So I've gotten fed up with Acid 5 lately...I go to record vocals and upon playback, they're all crackling and sounding pretty sh!tty not to mention I have to manually adjust the vocal track to be in time with the beat. I had this issue once before and it somehow went away on its own.
So I uninstalled AP5 and reinstalled AP4 and low and behold...same problem. To make sure it wasnt a soundcard/hardware issue, I recored vocals into Sound Forge and Vegas and what-do-you-know? The vocals sounded flawless. This is so damn frustrating.
So...any suggestions on a multi-track host for recording vocals? I still plan on using Acid to construct my beats and whatnot but I just need something a lot more stable for recording vocals, scratches, and guitar stuff. Thanks in advance.

Adobe Audition
. It will also be a rewire host for your Acid stuff.

Yeah...I never really thought about that. To me though, Vegas was really intended for video stuff.soma wrote:You have vegas. Can't Vegas do multi track recording?

Sorry, I thought this thread was the "personals" advertising section, for parasitic creatures.

Seriously though, I would suggest Tracktion.
If you only need audio recording, with no MIDI support, and you're low on funds, then try Audacity. It's free, and it allows you to record and edit multiple tracks of audio. I use it for lots of things.
take care,

I don't know why you'd look any further than Vegas, unless you need midi. Vegas can even read and use Acid info, and it's one of the smoothest, fastest, crashfree and most intuitive app around, and the new version can load VST effect as well as DX.

Yea I second that on Vegas. While it does do Video rather well the audio part is second to none. Hard to imagine but it's true. And if you've got SoundForge as well you should have all you need for audio. I got Vegas to do Video but Once I started using it to replace audio on captured Vid's the interface while different is smooth. As to why it does not perform for you is a mystery. Stable as it gets here.

Looong time Vegas user. Clean, efficient and fluid interface. Stellar file management features. *Extremely* fast for editing...it is without peer in this regard, in my experience. When I am under intense pressure to comp and assemble really intimidating amounts of audio in scary little time, this is the app I want under my fingers.
Lean and buff...just what a thoroughly professional app should be.
