Circle of Dust

after letting them sit on the shelf for a LONG time, i recently listened to some old CDs by Circle of Dust...the '95 re-release of the self-titled album, and the remix collection "metamorphosis." anyway, i got to wondering what ever happened to scott albert, the man behind COD? does anyone know if he's still making music? though i have no aspirations to produce industrial metal, i find his work fascinating and inspiring...and the random Ren 'n Stimpy samples were great.

Wow, i haven't seen CoD mentioned in a long time. Scott Albert is rockin' with a new band called 'Celldweller,' under the pseudonym of 'Klayton.' His music and production skills have come a long way since CoD. If I'm not mistaken, every track on the self-titled 'Celldweller' CD has been licensed for TV/Movie. And the guy is still holding his own without record label support.

Since you left the CD's on a shelf, were there circles of dust left when you moved them?

I work with him, He goes by the name Klayton Scott now. He remade an old circle song called "goodbye" on the Celldweller "Beta Cessions" Cd. Go buy it! http://celldweller.com

i used to listen to a lot of scott albert record, productions back in the 90's. didn't he used to have that MYX label or something. Circle of Dust kicked butt so as Brainchild.
be part of the solution, not the problem

digitalmessiah, i think you might be thinking of scott blackwell. i know he had a label or two back in the '90s...myx, and n*soul, i think. something like that.
lsd, do you happen to know if klayton scott/scott albert had anything to do with a band called "immortal" before he started brainchild or circle of dust? i found an old compilation from '92 with a song by them on it, and the singer kinda reminds me of COD.

Yes, I really like CoD and Celldweller. Good stuff.
Sometimes *too* good, though: I feel guilty sometimes for listening to Celldweller because it sounds so damned polished and commercial.
Also, don't forget the Argyle Park project: that's a great album.
Thanks for reminding me, lsd: I keep forgetting that new CD is out...
