Electroloops II - a free collection of industrial electronic grooves for Rhino
by Big Tick and Daniel Maurer
The story:
After the success of the first "Electroloops" bank, I wanted to make another one, focusing on
noisy, distorted grooves. It took me more than one year to get it completed, since I only worked on it
on and off and wanted to come up with high quality, fresh presets. I think the result was worth it.
The process:
Many of these grooves were started by searching for African drumming patterns on the net. I deconstructed interesting patterns into several layers, and used the Rhino envelopes to capture the original groove. The goal was not to reproduce the original sound, but steal its rhythmic feel and come up with something entirely new. Thus the waveforms played by the various oscillator don't try to mimick the djembe, conga, or other traditional instruments used in the original groove. I also refrained from using any external samples.
When I had almost a full bank worth of such presets, I sent it to Daniel for additional finetuning and user control assignments. Since he had not heard the original patterns, he tweaked my industrial grooves with a fresh ear, often coming up with creative improvements. He also contributed several nice grooves to help finish the bank.
Enjoy the grooves !

Hey 'Tick - very fun! Just swept through them all, and though I'm not usually a loop person, I can see some possibilities. However...Big Tick wrote:Electroloops II - a free collection of industrial electronic grooves for Rhino

Two of the patches come up with the following error:
An error occurred while loading a waveform
Noise/Spectrum 01:File not found
Am I missing something? I believe I have all your free banks, plus most of Daniel's commercial banks.
Cheers,
Envoy

Damn. That "Noise/Spectrum 01" waveform is from Daniel's BnB2 bank. Let me check with him what we can do.

I've just uploaded a fixed version of Electroloops II. This was the easiest way to correct that "missing waveform" issue. If you got the file yesterday, please grab it again.

No need to reupload if you own Daniel's BnB2 bank though - I am right in think in that.

Thanks 'Tick - the new version works fine (I almost freaked, as it *didn't*, until I remembered to load a different bank and then reload ELoops2).
I still like my idea of free BnB2 for everyone better, though...
Cheers,
Envoy (who awaits Daniel's next Digital bank...)

thanks Tick
you certainly keep doing a lot to keep your rhino users happy
i used presets from electroloops 1 in my last 2 projects, just in anticpation of using electroloops 2.
with so mant quality prestets available, it's easy to forget some of them

thanks Tick & Daniel - what a great idea, using African percussion patterns as a starting point. More instant inspiration from one of the most generous developers out there:)
Much respect to you Tick
