Are we running out of names?

Recently I started noticing how a lot of music related software is coming out with extremely similar names, specially VST/VSTis. Since there is new software being created every day, it makes it difficult to know what plug-in does what, except for when the name includes a hint of what the actual plu-in is (Ex. Altiverb, BFlanger, Etc). I have a list of about 200 different plug ins, mostly freeware, and every few months I have to go back to the list and refresh my memory and what is what.
Thanks for listening
I just had to get that out, now I feel 10 pounds lighter and with a lot less stress.
Thanks for listening

I was going to write a VSTi and call it "ecki-ecki-ecki-ecki-P'TANG!-zoot-boing" but some buncha clowns called Monty Python got the name first. Or so they claim. >:-S
So I'll call it "Shrubbery" instead.

Named after a Merzbow collab with Gore Beyond Necropsy, if I'm not mistaken.hvaring wrote:I have a soft spot for the old Buzz synth "RectalAnarchy". Now there's a name.

New idea: the Namegiver-VST. Plugs in your favourite host to randomly rename your VSTs and VSTis with new names!
Would make for some interesting music, wouldn't it?

i think the "nni" vsti would be great also , because calling it 'ni' only could cause some problems ...
