Thanks a bunch for the heads up. I’m keeping an old OS 9 machine around anyway (I’ll never let go of my Oasys PCI card) so this will fit in nicely with the other OS 9 orphans, like Infinity (still the best looping tool, dunno why Antares won’t update it).
SonicWORX is a bit quirky, not your regular audio editor but definitely interesting and for free it’s a must for anyone still working in OS 9.
Thanks again!

Do you have Jaguar? 10.2.8 is as high as it gets. 10.3 and up won't work, afaik.glaucomys wrote:Anyone have luck getting this to work in classic via OSX? Some tips would be great if anyone has some.
Thanks,

@LBN: lol, does SheepShaver even output any sound? OK, you can still transfer the result over...

If you can't get it to run under Classic in OS X you could always install SheepShaver and run it under that. I suppose you could call SheepShaver more classic than Classic.glaucomys wrote:Anyone have luck getting this to work in classic via OSX? Some tips would be great if anyone has some.

Hmm... sheepshaver doesn't seem to want to work, can't get it to start up. Anyone an expert here
? I'd be super happy is someone that has already got this running on OSX could give a hint. Or maybe post your prefs file settings, changes.. My paths seem okay from what I know, but the app just blinks on and quits in less than a second.

Thanks!

Here is a good forum for SheepShaver support. A lot of people have posted copies of their preference files there so you might be able to get some tips.glaucomys wrote:Hmm... sheepshaver doesn't seem to want to work, can't get it to start up. One question: Do you have a copy of a Macintosh ROM file in your SheepShaver folder and is it marked in your preference file?

http://www.prosoniq.com/html/drivers.htmlKarlsruhe, April 28th, 2005 -- A new beta version 0.9 of Prosoniq's own ASIO driver is available from the downloads/drivers page. This ASIO driver enables sonicWORX to play back audio files in OS X Classic more smoothly than with the Steinberg SoundManager ASIO driver that is selected as a standard when you install sonicWORX. This driver is only needed if you're running sonicWORX in OS X Classic - we highly discourage its use in MacOS 8 and 9. Note that sonicWORX has been discontinued in 2004 and is provided as OS 8/9 and Classic compatible version free of charge on an "as is" basis. We do not provide support for it and no OS X native version is planned. sonicWORX has been tested and found to work in OS X Classic up to 10.2.8 but we do have reports from our testers that it is also working in the latest 10.3.9 on some systems. We hope that providing this discontinued product for free makes upgrading for existing users easy and hassle-free while bringing a stable state-of-the-art application to those who are still working on OS 9 bootable systems.

Great stuff! Nothing like a few new freebies. I really wish more developers would do this - release their discontinued programs as freeware. So many great appz that are only available through dishonest means...Juno-X...cough
