So, this weekend, inbetween large amounts of varying toxins and mood swings, i got working on a new song. It seemed to be going really well. Found a cool as f**k vox sample, had some wicked beats and a nice and evil bassline, with the obligitory 303's bubbling gently in the background.

So, i kept poking at it, tweaking this and adding that, and was thinking 'not much more to do and thats basically the tune done'

Fired it up after work today, had about 3 listens and thought...'what a f**king load of crap'

I had high hopes for it being a tonkin good tune, and it justwasnt happening today.....

whereas I had a pretty good tune that my host didn't like so it just crapped out on me. I've kinda rebuilt it but now I don't like it....

that's wat happens when you make music influenced by "varying toxins and mood swings" or when you get cracking late at night it usually sound ass the morning after.

I didnt do it when i was wasted, i did it inbetween...kind of. I was pretty straight, i cant do music when im mashed, i dont bother, i know its gonna be crap.

There is a mood I get in that will pull the same shit on myself. I think that I am making the uberhit of the century, only to hear the utter shiteness later on when the mood has passed.

try very hard to illustrate how technology sucks the life out of everything, oc when it's people getting sucked, they don like to look theyselves and say 'boy we got all our life sucked out of us by being robots'

but you can hear where it's dead in my tracks and it's be alive if it was alive but t's not, it's just dead, so there you go. congratulations you big funky dead robot music dude.

yes, happens all the time, only every 3 songs ever get to a listenable stage...

Yeah man this always happens to me, think a tune is a stunner then load it up the next day to show your mates and it's like Barbie's First Step Sequencer Demo tune or some toss like that.

Just keep plodding away at it and you'll probably turn it into somthing good...

don't boot it....you never know, that happens to me often...I call it the next day test any many songs do not make it...

If it means anything; I find that any idea that was worth spending a few hours on is always useable - you just need to forget about it for awhile, probably. I'm the king of starting something and dropping it after a couple of measures...but then many months later my brother will say, "Hey - this one is awesome", send me an mp3 that I sent him, and I'll be, like,

"Nice! This sounds great - who wrote this??"
"You."
"Oh."

So, don't give up.

Normally i do afew bars of stuff, save, and never use it again, but his one i did a lot of work on, or so i thought....I was convinced it was gonna be done and dusted and cool as f**k.

Cant win em all. Dunno why im worryin about it...just seemed strange....
