i tried scuzphut and it totally does NOT do what i am looking for.. I'm looking for a gate effect that chops up the sound and You get a stuttering effect.

that's a good one. You can also wait for a few days and Camel Space will be available, it looks awesome.

Hmm, you should be able to get that with scuzzphut.

Anyway, in a short while you'll be able to use this:

Eight 16 step patterns routable to volume, multimode filter, pan, control over attack, sustain, decay, length and shuffle of the steps, plus many other effects, and one helluva GUI

Xziled try mgTriggerGate. Its a freebie I got from a link here at KVR its the best and most usable I found out of all the freeware gates posted here though Alligater from Tobybear I think would run a close second. Sorry I cant provide direct links havent quite worked out how to do that yet. If you run a search on the site you should track em down or maybe some kind soul might see this and provide you with details

xZiled - if it's the stutter effect you are looking for (like a stuck CD) , try phutboyslim. Link in my sig.

mgTriggergate and the step sequencer in Camelspace all do the same thing as scuzzphut6.5-lite, so maybe it's a different effect you're after?

mgTriggerGate seems to work. maybe I am missing something in scuzzphut if it does the same thing. i have it i just need to play around with it some more. these plugins are nice. But I'm thinking about getting a 'Behringer Intelligate' would that do what i'm looking for?

Agreed xoxos' gate2 is a good choice.

My favourite is the TinyGod gate for the lovely mutate function.

just curious - do the synthedit ones have the ability to sync to bar position? I guess what I'm really asking is "can SE plugs make full use of the VSTTimeInfo structure ?"

Anyone recomend some good trance like gate effects?
