Well....I'm 51 years old...been playing guitar since I was 14...have played professionally, on and off over the years...I'm an accomplished musician....and I love FL Studio!

So what'dya make of that?

I am of the opinion that if the next crop of producers in whatever genre used FL for most of their time producing...there is no reason not to once the next crop of producers make the big time.

I don't care for it, but what does that matter.

I know for a fact that if you score something or produce something using a $10,000.00 sample and effects library in your set-up with FL as a host...It'll sound more professional than if you tried to make the same composition on a Triton using Triton's sounds and effects...

Where is the data that you base this claim on? WTF?! You sound like a member of the Bush administration trying to justify the invasion of Iraq with the statement "because I say so". Bullshit. Proven where? SHOW US THE DATA! Or at the very least state your claim as an opinion rather than fact, if that is the case.

Hey man! Nearly the same history as me. I am 51 and played guitar since age 8 but not decently until age 14. I too love FruityLoops. I started my whole experience using computers to make music with Fruity and continue to do so.

I never see anyone arguing what kind of pen they use to write, or what kind of cellphone you use to make calls, or if you can hit a nail better with a Black & Decker or a Craftmans' gun. Why argue about what tool you use to make music?

Great point. "You're not using a Montblanc?? Then it's not real writing!!"

"Talent" doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is having super-ultra high quality reverb if and when you're trying to make 'professional' music. If this thread has proven anything, I sure as hell hope it is that.
Ideas are bulletproof... I am not.

Wow this thread has made it 11 pages. Bravo. Really why the f**k does anyone care if pro music is made on fl studio. Their all tools, use them for their strengths.

yes.

professional too ;)

I'm glad we have some sane people in here.
I love flstudio. Almost as much as my girlfriend.
And she's HOT...so go figure...

Why do some people feel the need to seek validation, for certian tools, by starting idiotic threads like this?

The Flying Lizards used a Casio VL-Tone to make their top ten hit "Money"...

Image

Jerry Goldsmith used Kitchen Pots and Pans for Percussive FX on the original "Planet of the Apes" soundtrack...

Image

The original Fairlight was an 8-bit sampler that was used by the likes of Jan Hammer, Peter Gabriel and The Art of Noise to create hundreds of acclaimed albums...

Do you really think the tools make that much difference?

Pssst, listen up. I'll let you in on a little secret... It's all about talent and creativity.

Get over it and make some music with whatever toys you feel compelled to use.

Ok 192 then....
I still think it makes a mockery of this insane push for higher and higher sample and bit rates.

A very large proportion of people also listen to music while inebreated (mainly alcohol...but quite often a cocktail of alcohol and various drugs) and we all know what that does to the ear/brains ability to percieve audio....don't we?

I still get off on old mono recordings of Django and the hot club, scratches and all, obviously very low quality ...but the music is simply incredible!

Just in case your thinking "right..old fart..old music...doesn't have a clue" I also like Infected Mushroom,Eric Satie, Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Linkin Park, Something For Kate....Mussorgsky.......Eminem
.....just to name a few.

The big thing to understand here is...it's the music that attracts people....they love listening to good music, and they are often quite willing to put up with bad or mediocre audio quality to do so...

I'm not.
But I will argue against stupid equipment elitism till the cows
come home...and I'll still be going strong when they get up in the morning.

Like I said above... I still think many people just dismiss
FL Studio out of hand because of the original FruityLoops name
...hehehe more fool them.........
