This is part of a sound font I am making – this part is from a small electronic motor :D – could you guess it? Would you want it?

The actual sound font playing with added delay and reverb

The mp3 is just 726KB (very small to give an idea of the tone range only)

Edit:

Here are the download spots - I split it into the indervidual fonts.

Cool :D , It will be available for download today after I taken a couple of photos of the actual motors used – plus the Bell

This is another part of the font – a medium sized bell that can sound pretty big if needed.

This mp3 has the font playing with added reverb (400KB)

neat stuff here, Thank you very much!

What equipment was used when recording these?

Post

Thanks guys, :D

Genetic these were recorded with rode condenser mics as they are very good at capturing mid to higher tones, this was recorded via an external Edirol UA-5 at 24/96 direct to the PC, then resample for the font to 16/44.1 – If possible I try not to use mixers as they can ad noise (well mine can if not positioned really well) :)

Thank you for these two, and for all the rest, too!!
If you can't beat your computer at chess, try kick-boxing.

Thanks for the info Spe3D. And thanks again for the neat sounds. I really appreciate sounds that are not in the category of the usual musical instrument. :)

Thanks Genetic :), there is a massive resource available outside of the standard instrument. The key point is the vibrating sounds, smooth or rough n a mixture of the two. The more exploration, the more that opens up to the possibility of finding new instruments in the everyday environment – great fun :D
