Hey I just installed Reason 2.5 having bought a second hand copy but I must have messed up the install because every time I start Reason it asks for Factory sound bank CD3. I think I must have deselected the Factory Bank CD to be installed.

At the moment its only working if CD3 is in the disk drive. I wonder is there any way I can tell it to install the CD3 into the reason folder so I dont have to leave the CD in my machine constantly?? Or do I need to reinstall Reason altogether??

TIA

Hey womoma!

Sorry I can help but I just thought I'd say hello to a fellow Irish person!!!

I've not seen you round before so just a welcome to KVR

Take care,
Dave

I believe you chose not to have the soundbank installed, that is why it keeps asking for that disc. Perhaps check with the support at the propellerheads.se to be sure, but it sounds like that is the case.

Just copy the Factory Sound Bank (and the Oreksta Sound bank too if you want) to a place on your HDD (inside the Reason folder somewhere?) and then go to preferences and use the pulldown to go to (this is from memory) Folder locations I think it's called.

Point Reason to the folder where you put thesoundbank refills and your all set.

Yes, that's right. The factory soundbank has to be in one of your designated sound locations which are set in the preferences menu. Otherwise, Reason will not function without its "dongle" in the disc drive. It's Edit/Preferences/Sound Locations

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Funny thing is- Im pretty new to reason but I did have a bash at a demo of v3 and version 2.5 doesnt seem to be very far behind v3. Basically I mean this will keep me going for a good while so Im delighted.
Cheers.
