It sounds pretty clean, considering they stretched the hell out of it.
I'm streaming the last movement, and it's actually pretty cool...

hi guys,
u can check out this link of the downloads. i think it'll be much easier to download straight from the directory listing.
http://slib.soundex.co.uk/samples/
but the file naming is a bit weird though.
hope it helps.

Low-quality mp3s, a defective interface, and a severely broken naming system? Wow!
Err, thanks, but I'll pass.

I think you are right. You can't uncompress an mp3 and return to anything like the original wave.
If you render the mp3 to a wave and then upon completing
a song make it into an mp3, the quality will most likely be terrible.

I'd say let's wait a while, provided what's been revealed on the forum by the site's maintainer:
(source: this thread)! We are working on plans to release sets of full quality aiff versions, but also possibly an on-screen player which will bring down a bunch of samples for whichever instrument you select and then let you play them on your keyboard, which would be cool.

Unless the mp3s at that site are Horrible, and you make a shitty mix, and compress to mp3 in some stupid way... no, it won't be audible in the mix.PT wrote:I think you are right. You can't uncompress an mp3 and return to anything like the original wave.

Maybe if you ONLY use the samples at that page it'll be noticable, but after mixing, adding reverb and maybe compression etc... I doubt it will anyway.
