I was playing around with SS2's combi's today and I had a problem with one of them. In the Orchestra subset the combi "New World Symphony" reports instrument 2 is missing and then I get a Cubase error message.

Can someone please check and see if it loads correctly for them in Cubase or whatever host you use. That way I can figure out is it is me or not.

Thanks,

Dan
Those that can, do. Those that can't, argue about it on k-v-r

Hello :)

For me, it loads fine. But, it appears that the 2nd instrument isn't a Sonik Synth 2 sound. It is from "Sonic Station", which is a different Sonic Reality product.

The name of the patch is "Sade Strings". I guess you could replace it in the combi with another string patch from Sonik Synth 2

Or maybe you'll be able to buy it in the downloadable section of esoundz.com.

Hi Pheeleep!

Hmm. Interesting. I'll have to have a look at that and let you guys know. That's a good patch too.

Hi Squids,

It sure is a good patch. There are some treasures in there  You might want to sell that one as a download on Esoundz.. also, "Orchestree" is another very cool one that comes to mind.

Hope all is well,

Pheeleep

Yeah, I have two words for you: Godiva Caramel. ;) :D

Yeah, all is well. Thanks. Wanna beta test Miro? :o Just kidding. But, we're getting very close to that stage! Man, it sounds sooooo good! I love it. There's even a surprise that hasn't been mentioned in the specs that is going to freak people out who liked the demo I did at Frankfurt on www.sonicstate.com I don't want to let the cat out of the bag but as if the plug-in didn't have enough value as it is... I better be quiet or I'll get into trouble! ;)

It's Ghirardelli, not Godiva

Beta test Miro? I know there is a KVR'ian named Miro but I didn't know he needed testing

Can't wait to see what surprise you're going to pull out your sleeve.

And of course, anytime you need an extra hand for beta testing, let me know..

Of course! But, I also want to see it fully implemented before I say anything or I'll once again eat my Squidsian words too... you that have read my "good intention" posts about things to come and seeing it backfire know what I am talking about. So, I'll have to contain myself. But, let's just say that as if the deal wasn't good enough already for Miroslav (yes, Pheeleep, Miro = Miroslav and you say Godeeva, I say Godiva but let's not call the whole thing off ok?) it could just get even better! That's fun for me to think about. I like good value. I feel like we're doing something good for musicians when we can achieve it and still do well enough to keep on going.

Hey, I was going to do a sound library with an ex-Steely Dan player. I don't want to name who. But, it doesn't look like it is going to happen. Oh well. Not a big deal really but novelty factor was fun. Some other good ones coming though (besides already the Danny Gottlieb drum stuff... wow!)

So after installing SS2 and copying over the two DVDs of sounds to my hd, the FIRST thing I do is load up New World Symphony! What are the odds? Over 5000 presets and 300 combis and I load the one with the missing patch  Well, after a bit of time troubleshooting, I finally decided to turn to the forums and found this thread! I still can't believe that it was the first thing I tried.

You should play the lottery with those odds.

We'll replace the combi with the next update. Someone must have programmed it with Sonic Station installed and used one of its sounds as a fluke. Out of thousands of sounds there's bound to be something. If anyone notices anything else please email me: dave@sonicreality.com I've got a few sound updates planned for SS2 in the works.

I found Sade Strings under F Orch Textures Strings 012. I loaded it into the second part of New World Symphony and saved the combi. Thanks!

Sorry for resurrecting an old topic, but there's kind of a connection with Dan's original problem.

Like many people I've been using Sonik Synth 2 as an additional library for SampleTank 2 - not that there's anything wrong with Sonik Synth's interface (it's nice and shiny!) but I'm used to SampleTank, and I'm trying to keep my music PC "lean and mean".

It took me a while to realise that I had to install Sonik Synth in order to get the combis (i.e. they can't be copied directly off the install disks like the sounds themselves), and then copy them to the SampleTank combis folder.

Now I've done that I've noticed that the presets with 'MW' in the name don't seem to react in any way at all when I move the mod wheel. Unless 'MW' stands for something else, like "Meaningless Waffle" :D

Can anyone else confirm this? And am I missing out on anything else by not using the Sonik Synth interface?

Cheers,

David
