Just passing on a message from the renoise forum as I have been reading here over the last couple of days that there are a few people interested in trackers + programming. They are looking for people to help out, all explained here for anyone interested:

Not being rude here, but I have to ask: where the f**k did all these Tracker people come from so suddenly? :-o

A lot of computer musicians have started with trackers. Trackers have for long been the entry for many computer geeks to music making.. It has not been discussed for a long time since there was nothing new to discuss in this area but now we have several new tracker projects in development/available.. this has made tracker fans (there are quite a few of them still around) wake up and thus there is more discussion..

some new trackers which are being developed.

aero studio (IMO the most interesting of the bunch at the moment)
renoise
buzzle
psycle (I believe its still in the works allthough nothing new to report for a long time)

then there's buzz which is not being developed anymore but people still use it , make machines & other cool stuff for it.

Oh, trust me: I'm not new to the concept of Trackers myself. I was just lookign at how many of these Tracker posts were by people who weren't here last week. ;)

hum.. seems this thread did not help much

No one out there with some programming skills that love tracking?

There are so many great thing planned for Renoise. But afaik there is only one main programmer now.

Plans like pianoroll (half-done), clip seqeuncer, audio tracks, better resolution/zooming, better instrument/sampler can make this wonderful program seriously compete with the large seqeuncers.

So dont hasitate, contact the author at www.renoise.com if you find this interesting!

I downloaded Renoise recently, its sequencer just like fruity loops and orion, excellent quality and good price, though if your not use to trackers its a bit hard to follow. But I think youv got to use 3rd party VST to get the most out of it. I don't like the internal sounds of sequencers like fruity loops, buzz, psycle ect...
The free skale tracker is very simular to renoise.
If your just into sequencing and comfortable with the tracker style, that would be a good way to go.
