Hey guys I like your plugs, but it would be a lot easier to try them out if they were in a zip instead of an installer. That way I could drag them into XT, evaluate and save or (God forbid) close teh zip and say god bye.
Also It would be easier to archive them for changing computers.

Oh, Because I don't always want to keep a plug in. A plain .zip lets me try the plug in before it ever leaves my temp directory. Alos I like to keep all my free plugs in a directory I can move around from computer to computer. when I get a plain .dll from zip I know that it will be portable. If it comes from an installer I have no idea what it is putting in my system (registry, other files, etc.) or if I can even move it with out breaking it.

I like dll's as well cause you can rename stuff so that it is nicely organised according to type or manufacturer...its really alot easier to look at, especially when you're a newbie and are looking to find your groove with too many plugins. You can organise your list very effectively and have it looking very neat.
I use FL Studio and in my plugin list I name all plugins first by manufacturer and then by name...so all my plugins from Betabugs are called "Betabugs Flofi" and "Betabugs Moneo" for example...they are all together...and for the instruments I have a prefix : "VSTi - Odo Unknown" for eg...so all his instruments are together as well. But with installers if you rename a plugin (like I did with Oxe FM) the default bank would not load. Dlls are just much easier to manage

I also prefer .ZIPs instead of installers. It makes me feel more safe...
