Sometimes I think it would have been worth the hearing loss to see My Bloody Valentine in their prime...
If you like 80s retro sounds, check out my latest tune…

They could have their day again if we're lucky. They announced earlier this year that they're working on a new album.Sicklecell666 wrote:Portishead at any time in their day

Ahh yeah portishead, i had the chance to go see them in leeds for a fiver i think it was, just before they absolutely blew up - but i was revising at the time. a mate went & was rhapsodising about them something silly & i was like 'yeah, whatever - sure they were cool'. A week or so later I saw them on jools holland, I was sick as f**k.Sicklecell666 wrote: Portishead at any time in their day

Saw them on that tour, managed to combine both activities.Sicklecell666 wrote: Godflesh on the Streetcleaner tour(decided to ball a chick that night instead..)
Would have loved to have been at the Equinox Event in London in '83 (Coil, Zos Kia, Dogs Blood Order, Pure...); Ramleh, Whitehouse and New Blockaders at Morden Tower that same year would have been fun.
Still kicking myself for having missed the God Blast America festival in NYC a few years back.

Truly amazing.
I suppose it's cheaper than Dave Lombardo, though.

Saw Portishead on their first tourSicklecell666 wrote:Portishead at any time in their day
Originally it was to be all seater at little tables so you could smoke and drink whiskey and soak up the atmosphere, but the requests for tickets was too much so it was just standing.
They started with a showing of "To Kill A Dead Man" (their film), then Geoff Barrow did an amazing cut-up/scratch DJ set, then they played for over an hour.
That "bit" in glory box caused the pillar I was leaning against to creak

Three times in a row I discovered Skunk Anansie were playing in Glasgow; only to realise it had already happened in the previous week.
