Thanx for that Sascha. I think the latest CDXtract demo can convert it to the poor man's sample format (i.e. sf2 or sfz). Will try it out later and report.
If I go insane, please don't put your wires in my brain

Sounds good played above the range of the samples, kinda like a dirty piano. Thanks for those

Great - I wonder whether the velocity to cutoff modulations will be transfered properly (most likely they won't...), which I used to give it a softer sound on lower velocities. In addition, for the EXS patch I also used some sample start modulation (again via velocity), which often helps to make no-velocity-mapping patches sound more natural too. Hm, maybe it could be done in sfz format... but I won't check that out myself as I wouldn't use those patches anyways.

Yeah, that's why I added those "thin" labeled patches.Kriminal wrote:Sounds good played above the range of the samples, kinda like a dirty piano. Thanks for those![]()

Has anyone made an sf2 or sfz patch for this?
I tried loading the waves in CyberFree and get a terrible hissing noise.
I then tried Ds404 and it refuses to load them.
I can load each wave individually into sfz, but that's not very usefull.

Hm, they're 24bit - could that be part of the problem?
I have two new, way better sounding patches (better sampling quality and even some release samples slapped onto them). Wonder if I should convert them to 16 bit before constructing any new patches.

That's just what this particular bass usually sounds like. I pulled back the treble control (on the bass itself) a bit though, as it filters out some string buzz.PT wrote:Did you filter out the highs on those samples, or is that the natural response? There doesn't seem to be much above about 1500 or 2000 hz.
The new set of samples will contain a bit more - but just a bit. Of course, it still won't make up for a synth dance bass replacement (in which you usually find way more high frequency information), but it seems to do the job perfectly for me.
Better don't ask why I will have to rerecord the new set of samples.... what a beginners mistake happening on converting them to 16bit, *sigh*.
Hopefully done in the next hours though.
