Anyone else seen this?
HERE
It's bad enough people ripping off the likes of Steinberg, Propellerheads etc with cracked software, but I doubt the content on these DVD's is even genuine!

Wow. Looks like a job for our attorney. What is WRONG with people? Can't they just use a different name for their samples? Why do they have to rip us off? Maybe they don't know and thought the name was their own but... you don't check to see at least the .com before you name your company/library? sonicreality.com has been around for years selling SAMPLES. I would think that if they were legit they'd have realized that and used a different name. So, they're probably trying to pretend it is us. Flattering but also annoying. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hey Squids,
Maybe you should order a copy of it, so you can get all the sellers info ( hopefully they will write the return address on the envelope ), and to check if in addition to the name, they are also using your samples..

Unfortunately, I'd guess they are as one of the quoted sample formats is Sampletank.pheeleep wrote: and to check if in addition to the name, they are also using your samples..

I'm guessing that guy doesn't give out epointz, or come on KVR and help his users out like Squids does!! I bet he doesn't do downloadable sounds, I'll bet he has never played with Jon Anderson or Danny Gottlieb either! I'll also bet he never did a cool i-map drum demo. ooooh,, man,,, he's nothing like OUR Sonic Reality guy!
As far as the legal stuff, there was a case where Bela D Media brought out a guitar set and called it Project 6. The Cakewalk Bakers had the legal hounds send them a letter, and it wasn't long before they found a new name.

If I read it correctly, I think the eBay ad said the samples were just wave files that could be loaded into various samplers including Sampletank.ScarKord wrote:Unfortunately, I'd guess they are as one of the quoted sample formats is Sampletank.

I hope you guys don't mind that I had to edit out some of your posts. I don't want to open a can of worms so to speak (even though I read what you said and thanks). I was going to delete this thread too but that's probably not necessary. Please understand this is a delicate subject for us.
It seems like some kind of scam. A bootleg or something. Pretty horrible really. I'd rather no one bump this thread and give it any more attention though. It doesn't even deserve that!
