Posted this in the Sonar forum but it seems to be sinking very quickly without a response...here are three VERY elementary questions...embarrassingly so...but here goes (not sure if the issues are with Sonar or Delta66 configuration):
1) When I use soft-synths/soft-drums, my preference -often- is to work in audio because it's easier for me to tweak parameters in real time. The way my system is configured, however, I can't record a soft-synth directly to audio, so I record in MIDI and then bounce the track to audio. On the other hand, certain synths (Tassman and VAZ Mod, for example) allow the "recording" of a .wav to saved file - I also discovered a free plug-in by Voxengo that allows recording. This is all a long way of asking - is there a simple way to do this just using Sonar without requiring a plug-in. It seems like there should be...but in my years of using Sonar I haven't found it - go figure.
2) I'm not sure if this is Sonar or the way I have my Delta66 configured but I can't figure out how to get Sonar to run with another program requiring use of the soundcard. For example, let's say I use the "Tool" function to open Wavelab...in order to use Wavelab, I have to first turn off the Sonar AudioEngine. Another example - even closer to home - let's say I want to import a sample into a Sonar project. Despite the "play" button in the Import window, I can't listen to the sample unless I -again- turn-off the AudioEngine button first. I've tried the "share drivers with other programs" function in the Audio menu but that doesn't seem to have worked. Is there anything I'm overlooking?
3) OK, while I have your ears...one last elementary question about a minor annoyance that may have a very simple fix. Is there anyway to configure a Sonar window so that it opens to a customized "view." Example, let's say I open the "Open Project" window...I typically would love to be able to have it open to show the detail and have it sorted to "date modified." If there's a way to do it, I can't figure it out. It's a simple thing and very minor but having to open, hit details, then hit date modified each time is an annoyance just the same. Any suggestions?
Sorry about the length of the post but I figured I'd just post the questions altogether. Thanks in advance!!

1) Don't really understand what your problem with bouncing is, I find it way more convenient than recording the synth's output. However if you need to do it, you have to select the delta Monitor Mixer as track input(!) and Solo the synth and its midi track in Sonar. Depending how you're delta panel is setup, you might need to change the output configuration for this to work.
2) I was going to say: Make sure that under options->audio->advanced "share drivers with other programs" is checked
This should work. Are you using ASIO or WDM in Sonar? You could try to configure Wavelab to use a different driver type than Sonar.
3) Propably not, as this is a standard windows file dialog (if I understood you correctly). Maybe there's a global setting for it somewhere in the registry, but this would then affect all windows applications.
