I missed Wesley Willis a month or so before he died. Went to see Paul Oakenfold the night instead.

One show I'm glad I DIDN'T miss was Morphine, especially as Sandman died not long afterwards..

I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

the usuals - Nirvana/Joy Division/New Order/Hendrix
Bernstein conducting Stravinsky's Rite of Spring
concert premiere of "20 Regards sur L'enfant Jesu" (maybe not the one in the POW camp though)
Davis' second quintet (with Hancock/Shorter/Williams/Carter)
Right now ESP and Kilimanjaro are living in my CD player (along with happy 2B hardcore#2)
+ some great HHC mega parties in Europe with Scott Brown, Dougal, Brisk, Breeze and Sharkey.
what can i say, i'll always love my shitty music. that's life.
10 years ago i was kickin myself for missing nin with bowie but that's life. now the band i just left just did an album with mark plati (after i left) and i'm so jealous that i can't listen to bowie any more. even though i'm more excited about seeing brown spin on Saturday, i'm my old fav band (nails) twice in a row in a week or two so i guess i'll grow out of my crappy music phase at some point in time.

Shows off the top of my head that I would have loved to have seen:
The Pink Floyd playing a nice big extended version of Interstellar Overdrive at the UFO club back around 66 or 67.
Mr. Bungle back around 92 or so.
Carcass, right after Necrotcism came out.
Dead Kennedys
Richard Hell and the Voidoids
Funhouse era Stooges
The Monks
The Sonics
First performance of Messiaen's Turangalila
The original riot inducing performance of Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps
Anything by Naked City or Painkiller
Crazy world of Arthur Brown
Crass
High Tide
Bach performing the Goldberg variations
MC5
Tago Mago era Can
Angelic Upstarts performing in Acklington Prison
Number of the Beast era Iron Maiden
Master of Reality era Black Sabbath
Don't Break The Oath era Mercyful Fate
Sadus
Morbid Tales era Celtic Frost
Covenant era Morbid Angel
Zeichnungen des Patienten O.T. era Einstürzende Neubauten
Stockhausen
Varese
Xenakis
Valja Balkanska
13th Floor Elevators

Things like that prove, without a shadow of a doubt, music has power.

Have you heard the Valery Gergiev conducted one? Probably the best recording of it available now. That final pause is just BRILLIANT!o'malley wrote:Oh yes... That would have been an amazing spectical.deggy wrote: Bernstein conducting Stravinsky's Rite of Spring
