If I lived in a Perfect World[TM]...

If I may be so bold as to speak on behalf of some of us "bedroom recording artists" for just a moment, I'd like to reflect on a couple of things I'd love to see, in this, the best of all possible worlds:

There would exist a website where I could upload a track (or a portion of a track) and someone could analyze it and tell me what's wrong with my mix. You know, "turn down the volume on the drums," or, "EQ the bass a little higher," or, "pan the rhythym and lead guitars to either side," and so on.

And - AND - we could do so with cover versions of someone else's song, WITHOUT fear of reprisal from some record company legal bulldog threatening to painfully eviscerate us for copyright violations. (We amateurs record a lot of covers.) We don't want to make a million dollars at this; we just want to impress our girlfriends by showing them what badass guitar players/composers/arrangers we are.

And, while I'm at it, I want to say how much I enjoy the k-v-r forums here. I never would have gotten as far as I have as quickly as I have without it. I don't usually post unless I've got a specific question, but I usually log on at least twice per day to read the forum posts. I have learned so much from all of you. Thank you for a wonderful resource!
