I missed this one...CM86 also has a full page CMkey guide for P5v.2 on the inside back page and 3 new tasty screen shots.

I don't know if this has already been posted here, but it appears that Guitar Center is selling their remaining Project5 stock at a significant discount ($129). I picked up a copy at this price at the local (Hollywood) GC, plus I read a post in the Cakewalk forum from someone in another state who got the same pricing.
w/ tax, it comes to about $140 for Project5 v2 (assuming you mail in for the free upgrade), which is pretty good...

Why would they list a CON as the box not being as pretty? That really is INSANE. Am I the only person here that throws away all the boxes I have and keep all my software nicely tucked away in a CD wallet? Judas Rocking Priest- the box?!?!?!

Whenever they don't find major CONS, they often throw something silly. Sometimes it comes across as funny...S_A_P® wrote:Why would they list a CON as the box not being as pretty? Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

The P5 v1 box was very beautiful -- the best software box I have seen (rivaled only by Corel Painter IX) -- so perhaps they had high expectations for an even better box?

unless the box actually makes your music for you, I really don't see how what the box looks like should be in anyway relevant...PaintedBlue wrote:The P5 v1 box was very beautiful -- the best software box I have seen (rivaled only by Corel Painter IX) -- so perhaps they had high expectations for an even better box?

I bought P5 specifically to get Dimension. Ironically, I bought Kinetic several months ago to get the GrooveSynth, and IIRC it's included in P5 V2, along with an updated PSYN. Oh well...christianmusicmaker wrote: Rgc's input appears to be paying off in a big way. The dimension synth/sampler appears to be a massive draw.

Voxengo's Recorder also - which I prefer to Tape It IMHO and it's often overlooked by many for this job.

Of course no one gives a rat's ass about what the box looks like. The only reason they bring it up is because the original box was so over-the-top spectacular to the point that it was funny. Do you care what your cereal box looks like? Probably not, but if you were gonna buy Wheaties and it didn't have Michael Jordan slam-dunking on the front, you might make a joke that it just doesn't taste the same (not as good), but everyone knows it's the same brown flakes inside.

HI
There is something about getting a DVD in a box the size of a 19" monitor though, I mean a dvd in a paper sheath just doesn't have the WOW factor, as they say.
Flipper.

Let me rephrase... They think they are being funny by doing that. Sometimes it actually comes across that way, but usually not.scuzzphut wrote:yeah........humour....mumpcake wrote:
