I've googled all over, cant seem to find any trial demo's!!!

Anyone know if it does automation?
How many audio instruments can it run?

I never end up using the deep end of Logic, I mostly use it for its functionality and some automation, which I hope Magix can do.

Can anyone say more about how it compares to Logic layout.

Post

automation: yes

Post

is it possible to use the new VAX9 synth as vsti or dxi in other sequencers ??

Post

no, none of them I'm afraid...

Post

Just the old Emagic paradigm of binding their synths to their sequencer... pretty lame if you ask me.

Magix Midi Studio is based off of the old ( or same ) code as Emagic's Logic Audio. When Apple got a hold of Emagic, it made Logic exclusive to the Mac. Then in comes Magix...they grab up the old code, and create the Magix Music Studio-and since it is based off the original Logic Audio code-all the synths are somewhat comparable to Emagic's Logic. Sounds good right...well the fact is the code really is old-and so the application itself is not very strong. They are deffinately working in the right direction with ReWire-and who know perhaps if they rewrite some code for the engine-those of us using the PC can use the same program Mac lovers get, at only a tiny fraction of the cost.

nope - you've got this wrong - Magix Midi Studio is a Logic derivate for many many years now...

Yeah - I do however wonder how much of the code is exactly in Magix' hands. I mean, they're actually developing Midi Studio further. Usually that'd mean they had some code access. But then, it's not even as fully functional as the latest Logic/PC version yet, so maybe they were just holding things back so far and won't be able to continue things as soon as a certain status is reached.

Of course, all this is pure speculation, but it makes you wonder whether we'll see some continued Logic for Windows one day (just that its name would be Magix Midi Studio then).

it's all based on 4.x so I think they aren't allowed to do much more than add new synths and make a few tweaks...

Why no demo for MusicStudio? :x

What do you guys think of "Magix" as a software company?
Are they reputable programmers that know what they're doing?
Samplitude is the the only program that makes them look pro, but how were they before acquiring Samplitude?
Do you think the old code is in good inough hands to foresee better things in the future?

Also how does Music Studio 2005 Deluxe compare to Music Studio Generation 6 Deluxe???

Also where is that bloody demo?

they didn't 'aquire' Samplitude - they developed it!

Samplitude has been a Magix product since V1!

I like what Magix is trying to do...they are not my first choice-I leave that slot for Orion, but for less than the price of your heating bill you can have a decent midi studio to compose with, and their audio studio is deffinately good-I own Music Studio 2005 deluxe, and occasionally I will open it up. The pro end Samplitude is what will keep them in the audio market for the long run though. :D
