Anybody have a prefered site to go to for Vocal samples? Anything would help, I don't really need like whole phrases or anything, just like simple vocal samples like someone yelling out "OH!", things like that. But anything would help. Thanks!

papelmedia has a beautiful opera singer and choral samples. (IMO the best unless you're into the EWQLSO or Vienna category
).
[Edit: I see Michael beat me to it
]
And you probably already know Julie? check zvon's forum, those are really really pretty as well. She does a lot of different "oh"'s

If you need playable pad sounds of ohhs, mmms and ahhs the AVP SampleSets could be the right decisions. http://www.store.precisionsound.net/index.php

Thanks everyone, I was amazed when I got back onto the forum to see so many have tried to help. I d/l a few things like the scat SF2 demo and all, technically I wasn't exactly looking for choir type sounds, just more of like vocal samples cut out of songs or movies or something. But from papelmedia to the scat soundfont, i'm glad it was taken that way, I loved the Tremolo strings from papel as well. You are all so kind for helping. Thanks very much!

By the way, what if I were to put together a large collection of various vocal samples (I just thought of it and maybe I will do it) Things like Drums cut from vinyl recordings, also vocals. Brief words or phrases cut from various types of songs and such, is it legal (as i'm pretty sure it is, so long as I don't cut whole sections or stuff like that) and if so would anyone like to have a large collection? I'm curious, cause a fellow musicians Father was a DJ back in the 70's, and he literally has three shelves full of vinyl, all shelves being about 10 feet long each so their is alot of records to cut from. What do you think?
Edit: Almost sounds like a poor man's Stylus RMX! But probably far less samples and no dedicated Plug in.

Can the papelmedia sounds be used in commercial recordings? The site doesn't say.

I don't think it's legal - as with the use of full commercial songs I think that even with short samples you'll have to ask permission by the company who's handling the copyrights (in the Netherlands BUMA Stemra) and pay a ridicilous amount of money to use themJ_Starner wrote:By the way, what if I were to put together a large collection of various vocal samples (I just thought of it and maybe I will do it) Things like Drums cut from vinyl recordings, also vocals. As for the Papelmedia sounds - just ask Papelmedia (I once did once and got an answer real soon).
