About 25 years ago I had a wonderfull Rickenbacker bass, but no sampler ! Now I´ve got plenty of samplers and, you guessed it, no more Rickenbacker... Is there someone over here who has some free Rickenbacker bass samples ? I spend all morning looking for it with Google (and it wasn´t the first time) ? But, these are MP3's and I don't know about the sound quality. I think you could convert from MP3 to Wave and then build a simple soundfont...

Me too ... Rickenbacker 25 years ago.

Loved it.

The fretboard was super slippery so sliding was very easy.

It was the most wonderful bass I've ever played.

So sexually playable

I don't think samples could ever do that.

Kevvvvv, you´re a poet; I couldn´t describe the Rick better ! The only bad side : slapping (I mean the pulling) was impossible; not enough space between strings and body. I´ve made a copy of the neck and will make a new one (some day), but I´m not shure to get the same sound. The Rick hides some secrets to discover. Cheers, Marco... .. .

But I play fingerstyle ... no thumb, no plec.

Fingerstyle is the closest to love when you hold her close.

You can tell when you love your bass because when she sleeps in bed with you, you don't mind her squeaky noises

I just did some mappings for the Rickenbacker samples of the Samplenet site.
As I needed to destructively edit them (cut silence at the beginning and set loop points) I'll have to upload the wave samples along with the patch definitions (EXS and Kontakt) too. Will probably do so tomorrow if anybody's interested.

OK, I'll upload the patch later on - I'm currently thinking of integrating the harmonic samples as some sort of release samples, which seems to work fine but requires a bit of tweaking.
Also, for my taste it sounds a bit too hard - I mean, there's a picked version only.

If you got Kontakt or the EXS, you may want to try some of my Musicman patches in the meantime: http://sascha.presetbank.com/
If you need to remap those manually you should be warned: There's quite some off tune samples. Of course I corrected them in the EXS/Kontakt patches.
