Any word on this one yet - getting anxious. Any projected time frame that we could be privy to? I wont tell. Promise.

We're getting real close actually. It could be as soon as that or sooner. Not likely to be later though.

I'm quite patient on this one
don't know about anyone else though.
How many years do you think it will be before the first price drop on Philharmonik?

Me too! I am actually trying to save bucks for this one. It's one reason I am not even going to think about buying Amplitube (the other reason is that I don't think I'll ever need A1 or A2)

Update. I am working on demos for Philharmonik. I was going to post a clip but then I changed my mind after the first reply. I think it sounds awesome. But, I only spent part of one day on it so maybe I will just wait until I am done. I am sure I'll still get varied responses because that's just the way it is. However, if any of you liked the video demo from Frankfurt then you're going to love this. It is a lot of fun working with. Addicting in fact!
More news soon.

I am finding that quite a number of 'pro' type composers on other forums were as impressed as I was by the musikmesse demo.Squids wrote:Update. I am working on demos for Philharmonik. I would like to hear another demo of the same type (live orchestra vamping) as well as isolated instruments demo'd, of a few of the most important instruments like solo violin and oboe flute, etc.
Also, an instrument list would be quite handy so we could know more about just what is included.
I would be curious if Miroslav sampled any less common orchestral instruments like tenor tuba, baritone horn or wagner tuben, or maybe bass oboe. That would clinch it for me right now!
Either way, it sounds great so far.
(P.S.: any news on the CSR reverb? when can we expect it?)

More demos coming. I will try to do some of these things you suggest. I am glad to hear other forums were talking about it. Wow. That's cool. Which?
CSR is coming some time this Summer I believe.

Good to hearSquids wrote:More demos coming. I will try to do some of these things you suggest. I am glad to hear other forums were talking about it. Wow. That's cool. Which?

The library was discussed at NS forums and even on the SOL forum, both favourably. I also have discussed it privately with some of the forum members there and they like it.
Those two forums are where the hard core orchestral composers are.
I would love to have Wagnerian orchestration supported with bass trumpet, wagner tuben, heckelphone, etc.
EWQLSO has the Wagner Tuben at least, and GPO Advanced will have them too. Very popular with Elfman, Shore and other film composers. They sound great playing chords!
CSR sounds so good its too bad it can't be released to coincide with Philharmonik.
Well, good things come to him who waits....and waits... and..

One thing that would be lovely to see is quick&easy switch of articulations to get it sound right. So,for example, jumping from legato to staccato and so forth should be easy.Squids wrote:Well, all I can say is that there ARE some surprises that you may like.
And some runs with a definable start and end note would be nice...
And one more question, are we gonna have several dynamic layers for the instruments in Philharmonik?

An edition to include what a typical Pop, Rock and/or R&B producer would use, that could be a good strategy as well. That would mean leaving out more typical classical elements like trills and I guess most of the percussive stuff are is not necessary, since a composer like me would already have it covered with other stuff and wouldn't see the need for extra percissive orchestra elements.
One other idea for a smaller edition, targeted as Pop musicians would be to leave out solo instruments and just habe smal and/or big sections.

I would really love to hear how the staccato string sections, e.g. contra bass, cello, viola and violin playing separate lines sounds.Squids wrote:Update. I am working on demos for Philharmonik.
I got a Cubase project with staccato and marcato strings and I'm willing to extact that part for you, if you wanna use it to demo these 2 articulations.
They are not represantative for an orchestral purpose, but surely show how it could sound when used in a po tune.
Anyway, I'll try that part out with Symphony Strings as soon as I got it in my hands.
