Maybe they don't fancy being part of a rigged competition with the aim of selling your product?

I don't really understand the contest. Make it loud, but not too loud, and you might win, if we like it. So what exactly do I have to do to win?

And it doesn't say explicitly in the instructions, but I have to master that clip available on the contest page?

Post

A) I don't need all that "loud" music myself. I prefer dynamics. Loudness, no matter how you put it, is contraproductive to dynamics (don't get me wrong, I am using compressors, but I don't use them to pump up a mix).
B) I may not have the appropriate tools (proper ears, listening conditions and software) either. As far as the tools go, I don't even seem to need them.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Well, exactly! ;)

Just make it professional!

You work in the studio and your boss or a musician customer comes to you and says 'here is the stuff and make it sound good'! They are no experts so you can't ask them what to do either. They just want the mastered result they can send to the factory.
You may ask for separate tracks but currently that is unavailable, too. So you just have a few hours, the single track and your tools. Use those to satisfy the customer (or your boss ;).

Well, yes. What other goals can a profit oriented company have? Besides appreciation profit is the most important.
But to achive better sales a company has to offer good products. To make good products a company must know the (possible) customers, too. A competition like this is also good for learning about the guys here. About how they work. How well they know their equipment etc.
If you are on the customer side it is a good thing to participate on events like this because besides the prizes you help to make things better.

So it is good for the competitor because it is a game, better for a winning competitor because the prizes and of course for the company because of the knowledge and the ad.

I (for one) don't really understand why some remains sceptical in this case. Customers do not have to loose anything.

What complete and utter bullshit. Do you even understand my objection to this farce of a "competition"?
