The length of the nag does make it difficult to evaluate how Foorius is to program you really need more than 2 min to get started on a patch.... but in 2 min you can be tempted by the sound.

While it doesn't have all the mod possiblities of Kubik, you've got wavetables that are imo much easier to animate. Also 4 operators vs. 2, 4 filters vs. 2. And to my ear better sounding filters.

Foorius seems to me pretty easy to program, the gui is easy to get around, as well as attractive. The envelopes are a little odd at first but I've really come to like them (I really prefer non-graphic envelopes). LFO setup is the best I've seen. Wavetable editing is now better in 1.1.

Now that I've thought about it, its not really fair to compare Foorius to Kubik, Jon created a synth with great depth... But on the topic of programability I find Foorius very accessable.

I wouldn't compare them at all.
Kubik's now @ V2.13 and the oversampling takes it too a whole new level.
Kubik has a MONSTER Mod matrix -:hihi: - and I have to concede I find Kubik easier to program IMHO .
I do however think the FOO has a gorgeous sonic sheen and the filters are very

(in a great kind of way).
That being said I tried the Absynth demo to see what all the fuss was about - hmmm nice synth I thought

(no seriously it's lovely) but ....

Somewhat amusing, but it only highlights the problem.

Anyway, I've been at it long enough despite the nag screen to decide not to buy/donate for the synth yet - it would have been sooner if the nag screen weren't there, but it's an awesome synth, so I persevered with playing with it despite the annoyance

If the GUI becomes more to my liking and CPU usage goes down, it definitely deserves a reconsider - but right now I know I would never use it [too clunky/too much of an eyesore]. Great synth, though - I'm glad that wave-sequencing interpolation was added!

Maybe I misunderstood... Can't you donate whatever you can afford? So like $10? Foorius might not be perfect but who can complain for $10 freakin dollars? I've spent much more money on far worse synths, thats for sure...

Exactly. So for a synth where you 'choose your own price' Foorius redefines value imo.

I think its absolutly unbeliveable that someone would complpain about the nag screen on this thing. I mean its practicly free. You can give whatever you want. And the more the better I say. I paid dmi once, and I will definelty be giving him more money as development continues. This synth is in a class of its own in my opinion. If you cant shell out a couple of bucks you dont deserve to use this synth.

I think that you are entirely correct as far as your evaluation of the synth, and that if people are going to be using they shouldn't quibble about shelling out a few bucks. I think that some people who are on the fence, or simply are deciding whether they want to shell out a few bucks for it, are so annoyed by the nag screen that they give up. Which is a shame. I did find it quite annoying myself, but I was so impressed with the synth that I contributed the $21 that I had extra at the time, and will give more in the future since I got away so cheap.

Well, if you don't shell out a couple of bucks, you CAN'T really use this synth, so whether you deserve it or not is moot. Unless you want to just use it as a preset machine - but who would want to do that with a synth with FOUR FILTERS, all of which have an amazing selection of types?

Although the presets aren't bad at all. Not many useful basses or leads or anything, but lots of cool pads and soundscapes!

For me it was a day and a half of two days. It's not a code, it's a nag free install.
