Not every product has a built-in database search engine with keywords for thousands of sounds. But, in general I agree that if it is possible for the scanning to be quicker I am all for it! It's been requested.

Hey PaintedBlue,
It seems to depend on the size of the project as well. And it's only very slow the first time you do it ( refresh or click all ). After that it seems to be quicker..

Thanks, Harmony Gardens, for your reply. I'll have to check out the presets when I get home. I'm staring at the UPS Package Tracking page, where it says "Status: Delivered"! I haven't been this excited about getting something new in a LONG time.

It looks as though the new update to ST2 is loading much faster than before, even though this wasn't listed as a change in the documentation. I'm not sure about this, but the "always relist upon startup" bug that I had complained about before seems to have been fixed, which is a very nice thing.Squids wrote:Not every product has a built-in database search engine with keywords for thousands of sounds. Accordingly, I apologize for complaining too soon! However, you must understand that, if IK and SR want to keep selling us sample libraries, then they eventually have to make ST2 scale up such that it doesn't become increasingly painful for the user to work with. Otherwise, it only deters someone like me from wanting to add more to my library.
This recent update seems to be a step in the right direction, and I hope that IK continues to keep the user experience in mind for customers with ever-increasing sample library sizes. Personally, if I had the option to disable indexing for the search function in exchange for "instant" loading, I would take that option, as the hierarchical categories are sufficient for my needs.
Now, back to writing down my favorite SS2 patches...
