Lowest latency is 24ms,
No ASIO or WDM
would you buy such a host ?

EDIT: 50ms latency is the BEST I can set up here !
At 24ms I get only crackles...

The host includes a bunch of VSTs and VSTi's
and has other nice functions too.

I would really like to see/hear what you think !

Would you recommend or buy such a host ?

Please vote !

Unless they offered either ASIO or WDM I would not consider them serious about the market.

For example, PowerTracks Pro Audio (I got it cheap with Band-in-a-Box several years ago) supports neither, although it can now play DXI's. The latency is bad, and it doesn't offer anything particularly special except some BIAB compatibility. I haven't used it since I got some "real" software (FLStudio, Sonar, and soon P5).

Edit: I've also used FLStudio without ASIO drivers - it really sucks rocks, but that was because I hadn't installed the correct drivers for my usb audio interface, and FLS doesn't do WDM.

Logic is a pretty flower that smells bad - Spock, in "I, Mudd"

Higest sample rate is 48khz,
not sure, but I think not more than 16bit audio.

My vote was Yes.
I think, that most of the users here could work more than comfortable with that "limitations".

But right, there are allot of people here, who want always the best from the best for theyr audio performance and internal resulution and so on...

But this don't neccessairly guarant them automaticly good final results, right?

I even fear, there are allot new folks arround here with self-build Super-DAWs right now, who - on the other side - never really got out any result of those machines... :hihi:

No. I think most people here who care about their music would not consider 16 bit acceptable.

The latency implies that you cannot really do audio. I'm not a latency freak, but 'lowest latency' of 24ms, implies that you would have audible latency, and you'd have to edit each and every recording to get the timing right.

Probably no VST delay compensation either... ?

I don't understand well the purpose to such a question but
Lowest latency would be 24ms
: that's too much to record percussive sounds, drums percussions, rythmic piano etc. That will just give you an awfull delay when recording.
Conclusion: Such a host would be totally useless (for me)

And for info i have a host without Asio and i can record in 96kHz 24bit with a latency as low as 1.3ms...
(1.5ms at 48kHz and 24bits)

I voted no. I sometimes enter complex drum patterns via the keyboard (and that's when I can feel the latency), so 24ms would be irritating. I am now at 3,6ms and anything above 15ms does not feel good anymore.

What are you talking about, what host ???

And if I where you, I would check my RAM, seems something is wrong with that too.

I see in my crystal ball that it's 768mb ram...
Midiworks?

Let me quote the developper:
I believe ASIO is not needed. A lot of people blame their tools but the output is like the least important thing. I've been into this software for many years and I never noticed a need for ASIO. How does it actually improve the program?
This topic is ment as an "eye opener" for him,
so it would not be nice to name the product. ;)

And no, there is nothing wrong with my ram or PC. :)
