thanks
so i guess any music store professional who does consulting is few + far between..
mainly thinknig about host.. years ago i would've said logic cos all the sequencer functions can be assigned to midi control, less key presses = good..

there was an article in SOS a few years ago about a guy with some degree of paralysis (can't remember) whose entire setup was arranged around his bed (to which he was confined). Not sure how specifically relevant it is, but I'll dig around later - see if I can find it.

What about the Alesis Airsynth?
Kind of like a modern Theremin from a midi controller standpoint.
Also, don't some of the new roland synths have an infrared light controller that's similar - though it's just for modulation. The airsynth thing was for note control amongst others.
Here's an airsynth on e-bay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eName=WDVW
I couldn't find any reference to it at the Alesis site.
I'm thinking this might be helpful to the disabled since it doesn't require fine motor control of individual fingers, as just about every other note-controller does.
I was thinking of this the other day. How could I continue to make music if I lost function of my hands, or my eyes? You seem to be asking the same question. I would love to be able to provide a product that served that need.
I do know that folks like Stephen Hawking sometimes can use eyeball tracking devices for text entry; why not modify such a device to allow midi note entry in a step sequencer?

i admit it's been a few years since i looked at the alesis airfx stuf.. so it mighta changed, but i mean...
wtf, people? wtf do you go making a piece of shit like that and don't give it a midi out to control other gear? save loads of $ over eg. icube stuf or et c.
naughty, naughty alesis. go lay down.

The airsynth and airfx dont send MIDI. But the Photon X25 has the same controller built in and it does send MIDI, AFAIK.
Oh and take a look at Analogue Solutions website; they were doing a dual-joystick controller box which you can now get sans joysticks for £30. Adaptable to anything that can deliver 0 to 5V

did you see the chart, how functional is the controller? I don't remember. The air stuff was fun the first week, like the yamaha dj keyboards they got old quick thoughwhyterabbyt wrote:The airsynth and airfx dont send MIDI. cheers.
if anyone's interested in applying some knowledge, dude's using fl, and supereel (thanks for the link earlier this week!)

perhaps what's needed most is someone with knowledge of loads of software.. eg. fruity loops.. not that i've looked at it that much, but doesn't it eg. have that 'cubase-style seperate velocity value garden' instead of the 'wonderful logic colour-coded concise + not silly display technique..'
you know.. stuf like that just makes life in general easier.. the thought of having to deal with someone else's mental obstacles
is just wrong...
