VST host without ASIO or WDM for $129, any use ?

I'm sure he will repair the audio drivers soon, ASIO or not.
But on the other hand, if you're developing what will eventually become a VSTI and testing it with a keyboard, it may seem tedious to test - or require you to export to VSTI repeatedly and launch a different host in order to play it with its full potential.
As was noted, Synthedit already has ASIO output, as does SynthMaker (I believe it was a rather recent addition).
Fortunately, Steinberg made the ASIO standard pretty "open", compared to the way the Props have locked up ReWire and REX files, where they basically told freeware developers to go away.

but this doesnt really sound like a "host" it sounds more like a synth creation suite...
perhaps for that purpose it may be worth it.

Yah I'm not saying the audio driver don't need work (as the developer has already stated to me) But this one has a lot of potential, either that or I'm just plain Old.
I started using Sync modular when it was first released, Was sick when Dr Sync was bought out by NI.
But I took the free update to reaktor anyhow
Working with Sync to me was plain fun.
Not saying I dont love Synthedit, I have used it since before save as VST ( hehe maybe them versions will be collectors someday)and still will continue to use it.
Synthmaker I have not used too much yet,but will
Sync modular, Reaktor, SynthEdit, Deltasp and synthmaker on the same machine Oh my I cant hold her she is going to BLOW!!!

Midiworks you are a moron! This thread is malicious and it only does undeserved harm to one certain developer and his product.
It's obvious which 'host' you are referring to.
This application has it's own low-latency system (called 'AudioX') which works with any soundcard so you neither need asio nor wdm. Depending on your soundcard you can easily achieve latencies well below 10ms without any problem.
Buy yourself a proper soundcard instead of bashing other people's software! And next time get the facts straight!

Maybe you dont have a fast enough proc? The installer says its ideal proc is 1500MHz and preferably 2500MHz or higher. I havent even tried it myself as I am still working off an old P3-1GHz.

who needs Directsound, MME, ASIO, WDM, CoreAudio... Why dont we add some more plugin formats while we're at it!!-

how can you compare a plugin-format to an audio-interface? Where's the connection? Why do you care how your sequencer communicates with your soundcard as long as it works? Do you really think you've gort something like an argument there? *scratches head in utter confusion*

In the same way that we already have enough plugin formats, we already have enough driver formats. This new format doesn't seem to provide any benefit over the current ones, so why bother?

Even more annoying than a lack of ASIO is Delta SP's website and those damn pop-ups it throws at you. I would give the program a half-decent chance if the developer would kill the ads on his site. You don't see pop-up ads on the synthedit or synthmaker site, do you?

the ads are in fact annoying - that asio-thing is hilarious bullshit! (I've got really fast fingers - if the latency is short enough for me it should be short enough for most of you whiners )
