for anyone interested , here's how you'd wrap a plugin with missing wet/dry control in eXT :

(yellow: plugin , red: mixer)

the overhead that this produces is barely noticeable btw .

FL5 is capable of this as well by default. i tend to use FL all the time when i wanna step automate mix Dry/Wet.
i then render it out and use it in Logic. but sure..it would be pretty handy to have a little plugin that does this straight off i guess.
if i owned eXT i spose i'd used that tho, as anything seems possible in there.
(its very similar to my creamware routing area, thats why i see its possibillities.)

plastique,
i guess one can automate the SOLO buttons in the eXT mixer on/off, cant u?
so i could have the signal completely Dry, and then just automate the 100% Wet signal on/off when i wanted to?

Post

it's not that I want to automate the wet/dry from some data sitting in the sequencer, I want to crossfade between wet and dry in a live situation - assign a controller to the 'knob' and hey presto, a virtual crossfader.

CinningBao,
i know, i was just asking for myself. :)

u should check this btw, i totally forgot about it,

look for DJ Crossfader.

Post

thanks steffensen, it's not quite what I'm looking for although I can see how it could be used in the fashion I want. still overlyfiddly.

Post

then i _really_ dont know what u are looking for. :)

Post

a VST effect which can load another VST and give me ability to slide between the wet and dry mixes.

that's not possible in the way you describe it , but could be easily achieved by sending a static cc value of 0 or 127 to the according mixerfader (which can be automated , together with pan) .

i just expanded the setup from above a little to have a real crossfade with now using only one cc control assigned to it .
here's an animation of what happens when i send this particular cc from a fader of my hardware controller :

(which btw could also be achieved by the mentioned beforehand dj-crossfader and simply feeding it with the wet and dry signal and assigning a cc number to its fader , but the result is the same)

plastique,
i grabbed eXT demo, and tried this for myself.
having loads of fun with controling the dry/wet on dj crossfader with the buttons on my external midi controller. :D
now i turn like 4 diff efx on/off with the dj crossfader just pressing some buttons on/off. very innuitive!
