Hello!
We're looking for some nice au compressor for the mac.
Something in the style of waves rcomp.. but less expensive.
Something that can used on general tracks, the more expensive compressors we have as hardware...
Any suggestions?

don't know if it's less expensive or not but sonalksis sv-315 is good. i haven't had cash to buy it myself yet but i tried the demo extensively and came to the conclusion that it does rock.

Maybe have a look at the stuff from Elemental Audio: http://www.elementalaudio.com/products/index.html
Someday I'll look back on all this and laugh... until they sedate me.

Blockfish is free, and it kicks ass!
so do the other 2 plugins it comes with.

I'll ditto that as well. Then see what is worth spending money on,you'll be a lot more picky by then.In fact the Blockfish is what I use the most along with TimeWorks Compressor-X(PC only though). After that I'd look toward UAD's LA2a and 1176.o'malley wrote:Blockfish is free, and it kicks ass!so do the other 2 plugins it comes with.

blockfish does rock too - although IMO it isn't super useful for neutral channel compression, more like beefing up stuff and adding a bit of distortion. YMMV.
