well, just started playing around with my NFR copy of T1 on my imac G5. have to record a classical concert tonight, and was going to use peak 4 LE as it's just going to be a stereo pair at 96K. peak is a pain in the ass though, so i fired up Tracktion, setup everything for 24/96 to do some testing. works beautiful. i really do love the interface, there's something beautiful about how basic and simple it is... or maybe i've just gotten too used to wading through windows in Logic

) it won't replace logic, but for quick and dirty setup and tracking it's about on par with Pro Tools in my mind. yea.

Good thing you live in the US then. You'll get the generous rebate offer. Many of us do not.

mackie does strike me as a very all american, beer drinking, red white and blue company, so it doesn't surprise me at all.audiobot202 wrote:Good thing you live in the US then. You'll get the generous rebate offer. Many of us do not.
anyway, tracktion is the only mackie product i will ever own (unless i magically find $1000 for a logic control), and it wasn't even made by mackie. i used the program for my recording gig last night, stereo recording at 24 bit 96k, and it worked very well. i think i'm definitely going to have to spring for T2 and keep this as part of my arsenal.

ugh. everyone will get a rebate. the america one was set up first. it's only available there yet anyway; it's not like you're not getting the rebate elsewhere. some of you whiners are so pathetic.
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

When a company communicates well, we all benefit. When they do not, some of us are confused.haydxn wrote:ugh. everyone will get a rebate. the america one was set up first. it's only available there yet anyway; it's not like you're not getting the rebate elsewhere. some of you whiners are so pathetic.
And when you resort to name calling, you obviously do not understand the point at all.

I was under the impression that KVR forums are generally quite open and liberal places where users can post in multiple threads.Warmonger wrote:You've already made it clear you're not happy with Mackie in other threads. Why do you have to crap on this thread?

... but precisely because of that ... you WILL very quickly get a reputation (deserved or not) if you carry on with this kind of cross-thread negativity ...

are you being rude to Steve for the sake of it?some of you whiners are so pathetic.
By the way, he's a really decent guy... and personally I think he has every right to be pissed that in Australia he gets majorly ripped off

Thanks for your support Andy. Much appreciated
I did not mean to come across as overly negative or gain some sort of bad reputation. I'm just frustrated that things for me are not sorted out with T2. I'm simply disappointed by the reults of waiting for several months for the new version. Call it an anticlimax if you want. As it happens, I have other good hosts I can use, but I'd at least like the opportunity to buy the piece of software without having to deal with import taxes that seem arbitrarily tacked on by retail pirates.
Like I've actually stated before, Mackie can do what they like. I love the workflow of the program and I'll miss using a new full version, but hey, that's life.
And I believe I've really been pretty courteous about it. My language has been stern, not colourful.
